Brand Story
It all began with a single question.
In 2001, Masakazu Shigeta, the founder of OSAJI, began his career as a cosmetics developer. This journey was inspired entirely by his mother, who was also his mentor in culture and the arts. At the time, his mother leaned heavily toward a deep reverence for nature; she avoided petroleum-derived products and had always been a loyal user of pure, plant-extracted cosmetics.
However, one day, she unfortunately met with a car accident. The psychological stress from the crash triggered a skin condition, making it completely impossible for her to use the botanical cosmetics she had relied on for years. Before this, Shigeta had always firmly believed that "food safe enough to eat must be just as safe for the skin." This sudden turn of events brought him an immense shock and raised a deep question. In his quest to create truly safe cosmetics, he stepped into his own kitchen and began the research and formulation of his own products.
